Jeffrey Barkstall, Century 21 realtor and Champaign resident is interviewed at his office by Franklin Middle School student, Jordan on January 27, 2010.

Jordan attended Barkstall Elementary School and was curious about Vernon Barkstall, former director of the Champaign-Urbana Urban League, and how the school was named after him. Research at the Urbana Library Archives, told us about Jeffrey Barkstall, Vernon’s son, who lives and works in Champaign. Mr. Barkstall talked about growing up in Columbus, OH and in Champaign, IL. He talked about being inspired by his father, the late Vernon Barkstall, travelling to Urban League National Conventions with his father and family and learning to play golf with his father.
